Walker ‘humbled’ by YWCA award nomination

Whistler Adaptive head rubs shoulders with other B.C. Women of Distinction Awards


Though she wasn’t named as an award recipient at Tuesday’s (May 31) YWCA Vancouver Women of Distinction gala, Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) executive director Chelsey Walker said she was honoured to be considered for such a prestigious accolade.

Walker was one of five women nominated in the Women of Distinction Awards’ Health and Active Living category. Fifty-nine women altogether were up for multiple awards and winners were announced during the 28th annual gala.

“It was a really great event and everyone who was nominated had great, different accomplishments,” Walker said Wednesday (June 1). “It was really humbling to be a part of that group of ladies.
