Thanks a Million Grant: Vote by June 14!
Live It! Love it! Foundation Adventure Camp Help bring this Adventure Camp to Whistler! Live it! Love it! is
an emerging non profit organization that works to promotes adaptive
adventure and help individuals with physical disabilities overcome the
various financial, social and physical obstacles to live an active
outdoor lifestyle and make their adventure dreams come true.
LiLi Project: In
honor of The Keg's 40th anniversary, The Keg is donating one million
dollars to the communities that have contributed so greatly to its
success. 40 grants of $25,000 will be distributed among Keg
communities.
The Camp: In
the past two years over sixteen 16-26 year old adventurers in BC have
sustained serious spinal cord injuries doing the sports and outdoor
activities they love. Now, living with varying degrees of physical
impairment they face a brave new chapter in their lives.
Each
of them is faced with many challenges in their journey back to outdoor
life and pursue of sports and adventure and LiLi wants to bring these
young adults together in Whistler for a weekend long adventure camp
designed to facilitate fun in the outdoors, inspire and reveal the
potential and opportunities for adventurous people with physical
challenges and inspire them to follow their dreams.
Together
with special guests, pro athletes and peer mentors in the wheelchair
community, the Camp will provide a safe and fun environment to try new
activities, a forum for discussion and peer mentoring, the opportunity
to work through challenges and make friends, and result in a
strengthened community of young determined people that will lead the
way in the realm of adaptive adventure.
The Camp will take place at a wheelchair accessible campground in Whistler BC. Vote Today to bring LiLi to Whistler this summer! Visit the LiLi website to learn more.
