Triathlon Training Program

The main objectives of the triathlon training are to;

  • Demonstrate the importance of goal setting and following a plan to achieve desired goals.
  • Build confidence in the athletes by seeing progress in their abilities and fitness levels.
  • Continue to send the message that regular physical activity plays an important role in a healthy lifestyle.

The triathlon training consists of 3 activities, biking, swimming and running. Currently we have completed the training based on a relay form as that is how we have competed on the actual race day. However that being said if someone wanted to train all 3 activities and race all 3 activities they could still attend this training program.

As an athlete you will need to be able to participate in at least one of these activities and if you are able to participate in more than one activity that is great because you will have the opportunity to train with your teammates and encourage and push one another in your preferred race areas.

Training is three times per week and in some cases may be twice per week depending on which event we are training for. Training is approximately 2 hours. Please contact the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program for further details, pricing and information: info@whistleradaptive.com or 604-905-4493
