Find yourself a nice little tool box or lunch box. I like the small lunch box, it’s a great
size to fit all your basic tuning needs. Inside your kit you will need the following items
for a basic kit. If you would like to do more advanced things or become a master of ski
preparation then we can talk further about the extra things you will need.
For your basic tuning kit you will need:
- 1 File Guide based on skill level
Intermediate skiers 92 degree and advanced skiers 93 degree.
- 1 File, medium fine
- 1 File clamp, to hold file to file guide
- 1 Sidewall remover
- 1 Horse Hair Brush, medium stiffness.
- Wax based on temperature, for this time of year a temperature range of 1 to -4 is good. But I would recommend getting this wax as well as a slightly colder wax.
- 1 Plastic wax scraper
- 1 Diamond stone, medium coarse
- Strong elastic bands to keep ski brakes out of your way
- Ski waxing Iron
If there is anything you can not purchase before the tuning session I would be happy to
let you borrow what I have. In the future you will need these things in order to tune your
own equipment.
