Hand Cycling Programs

Our hand cycling programs develop your skills in a controlled and safe environment in Whistler's Valley Trail Network. The courses will provide confidence and create a solid foundation that you could build on into the future. For beginners to more experienced riders.

Bursary Assistance is available to attend this course. Please request a Bursary Application when applying.

Course Dates and Outline

Intro to Hand Cycling: July 15th, 2006 Location: Rainbow Park
  • Courses run from 10am to 2pm, meeting at 9:30am for registration and waiver signing.
  • This course is for the intermediate rider. We will be exploring the Whistler Area, tackling Valley Trail network, while learning new skills and techniques to improve our cycling.
Course cost: $40*

Whistler Exploration Tour: July 26, 2006 Location: Lost Lake Park
  • Courses run from 10am to 2pm, meeting at 9:30am for registration and waiver signing.
  • This course is for the intermediate rider. We will be exploring the Whistler Area, tackling Valley Trail network, while learning new skills and techniques to improve our cycling.
Course cost: $45*

Loonie Race!!: August 8, 2006 Location: Rainbow Park
  • Why let the mountain bikers have all of the fun! The first WASP Loonie Race will take place on a course through the Valley Trail network beginning and ending at Rainbow Park.
  • Handcycle rental $10 for the race
Course cost: $4*

Slow Food Cycle: August 20, 2006 Location: Pemberton, BC
  • Come join us for the famous Slow Food Cycle in Pemberton. A festival centered around local produce and great food, we will join in the fun and cycle from farm to farm.
Course cost: $20 with hand cycle rental, no charge if own cycle supplied.

Dryland Training for the Ski Season: September 17, 2006 Location: Rainbow Park
  • Courses run from 10am to 12pm, meeting at 9:30am for registration and waiver signing.
  • Get in shape for the ski season with a clinic on using the hand cycle as a dryland training tool.
Course cost: $20*

* Course costs include membership in WASP.
